Our test chamber is professional grade, a setup by Orbit F/R and is state of the art and automated. It provides excellent repeatable results good to 1/4dB. All measurements in this non paid-for testing is guaranteed to be plus or minus 0.6dB accuracy. Our chamber has measured and still measures antennas for some major well known equipment manufacturers of wireless devices, radio receivers, phones etc.

We use a 25 foot long far field chamber, with dual rotational capability. Directional antennas are tested in a single direction (for this site) either azimuth or elevation and if available data contains both we show only the azimuth on this site, for simplicity. Monopoles, omni-directional antennas are also dual tested however on this site we are publishing the elevation only. The azimuth is assumed to be 360 degrees and usually within 1 db. Over the 1 or 2 dB would be noted on the test notes as abnormal.

Car/auto antennas such as magnetic based cell phone or WiFi antennas are tested on a 1 meter round, 2" rolled edge ground plane. This closely simulates a flat surface of an auto. base station antennas are supported by all non metallic means, as are directional antennas.

Data points are collected every 1 degree of rotation. More precision is possible but not needed.

Each antenna under test (AUT) is tested with a short as possible cable feedline, between the rotational support and the antenna. Usually the feed line is just 6" to 12" long and accounts for just 1/4 dB of loss. Thus, all our test results are AT THE ANTENNA, do not count losses caused by the cable connected to the radio, usually a few feet long. The chamber is calibrated using standard gain horns and verified against existing antennas and others pre-verified known gain at other chambers.
